ABOUT VETERAN'S DAY - Monday 11/11

by Borden-Lombardi Realty 11/08/2024

Veterans Day, November 11th is a US national holiday, honoring veterans of the armed forces. The observance originated in 1919 on the first anniversary of the 1918 armistice that ended World War I and it is often remembered by the burial of an unknown soldier at Arlington National Cemetery in Arlington, Virginia.  In Canada, Britain, Australia, and France, November 11 is observed in honor of the veterans of World Wars I and II.  To this day, the red poppy is a symbol of remembrance for those killed in service.  Broker Richard S. Borden Jr. served as a Sergeant in the US Army and in the Army Corp of Engineers Officer Candidate School, and we fondly remember A. Richard Lombardi, who served as a Captain in the US Air Force.  At Borden-Lombardi Realty, we are proud to be Americans and say thank you to all Veterans and active members of the US Military. We would be happy to serve you.
