Rita Borden, Stager/Interior Designer
Rita is a graduate of UCONN with a bachelors degree in Art and a masters degree in Interior Design. As an interior designer, she ran her own business for many years and was a professional member of the American Society of Interior Design (ASID). Rita is currently concentrating on staging homes for sale. She is a color expert with specialties in furniture placement and lighting, and can provide many accessories to use in staging.
Staged homes are known to sell quicker and for a higher price, in fact, a popular television network says that staged homes sell 30% quicker. Rita staged a home in Cheshire, CT that went under contract for purchase within a week of her staging it.
Rita lives in a Victorian house that she and her husband completely refinished and that she decorated with faux paint finishes and many special touches. In St. Petersburg, Florida, Rita decorated a home in the Florida theme to be appealing to potential buyers. As time allows, she will soon be working on another residence in Florida - a beautiful spacious condo seven floors high with panoramic ocean views.
A mother of three and a grandmother of six, Rita paints watercolors, enjoys nature walks, and likes antiques and reading. She volunteers her services for her church and designs for holidays and special theme events, including floral arrangements. Additionally, she has decorated Christmas trees for the Wadsworth Atheneum Festival of Trees (in Hartford).
